Today it’s actual musings.
Well bully on us. We finished the first part of DS. Despite the negativity of some, I truly believe the upcoming fights won't be that hard until we actually face Deathwing himself. We have a good group that is really coming together. I have to laugh at a few things.
One: Who knew Z could sing? I mean really sing. Should have told us earlier Z and we could listen to you in vent instead of the rest of us babbling idiots. Kerrig does a mean Sinatra medley, but really we lack actual ability. Sing at every opportunity Z. It’s good for the soul.
Two: Speaking of singing, every time I look over at Pras this song starts going through my head…:
Three: Why is it our bear pulls anything and everything most times when healers are drinking or rezzing others and I'm the one that dies? Valiantly leaping in to help out the bear is often hazardous to my health.
Four: I’m proud of us. From a rather inconsistent and often dysfunctional guild, we’ve grown in leaps and bounds lately. New members, new challenges and new fun and while there are so many key players (Kerrig, Pras, Zicha, Lionclaw, Tystus, and the rest), I think Salty is owed a real cheer. He’s been tireless in his efforts to make us a functioning, fun and growing guild. Thanks my friend.

That's very nice of you to say Gal, and thank you for the kind words. But the real reason for the guild's resurgence has been our regular members, as mentioned above. You guys all make this guild a fun place to hang out and, more than anything, I believe it's the atmosphere created by its members that makes a guild live or die.
The best example of this that I can offer is how we got Tystus on board. We did a guild run of End Time (during the dark days of Salty's shoulders) and pugged a 5th member, who turned out to be Tystus. We kept it light and fun, and everyone was, God forbid in a pug, NICE to each other. That, I think, along with Galahad's many witticisms attracted Tystus to our charming, freewheeling attitude and moments after the group broke up he whispered me about membership. So yeah, you guys have done most of the heavy lifting in the rebuild of the Hammer.
During recruitment interviews, the one thing I always tell potential members is that the individuals in the Hammer are the most fun, most friendly, and most generous people in all of WoW, and if I think a potential member won't fit the bill, I say thank you for your interest and send them on their way. As a result, we are growing slowly, but with quality people, the most recent standouts being people like Dikasara, Aldrider, Tystus, Gorttok, and Shadruul, who are all a pleasure to play with. And yes, 4/8 bitches! Now it is time for our dps to face their greatest challenge yet. I look forward to all our future triumphs.

So I got to thinking, why is Grokus so villified? Okay he ran away and abandoned his friends and anyone who does that should be villified, but for the most part he was above reproach. He was always helpful to my characters. Maybe it's just sour grapes. This of course led me to the whole ideal of villians. In WOW we have some pretty good ones. Lich King is still tops I think. Does he compare to others in say movies? Probably. I could seem him as an immortal villian killing bad actors all across the silver screen.
And your little dog too!!!!
Still one of the great all time villians. My top three movie villians of all time are: Vader - How can't he be? The Wicked Witch - She's everything a villianess needs to be. Khan - Oh come on, you gotta be over the top to be a villian
Grokus has nothing on these villians. The truth is that Grokus was always nice, helpful and efficient. Don't know why his blood brother hates him so. They seem to be so alike in so many ways. So many good villians, so many choices...

So I got to thinking, why is Grokus so villified? Okay he ran away and abandoned his friends and anyone who does that should be villified, but for the most part he was above reproach. He was always helpful to my characters. Maybe it's just sour grapes. Couple of things, Grokus didn't run from the famous Moroes victory, he wasn't there. Nonemo was there, and he ran. ((Nathan was raid leader at that time, and he really made the right call. One other left with him. It's just Yags, Kerrig, and Salty are too stubborn, in game and RL, to run. And we were rewarded with victory)) Nonemo was a very kind yet dimwitted soul. Think Satchel from "Get Fuzzy". He was beloved (and thank goodness Brown Snake was there to look after him). Grokus was very much a fanatic of the Burning Goddess. And because he was so virtuous, he thought there should be no cakes or ale. And a bit of a hectoring bully. Always had mean comments for Janka and Zicha. Kerrig hates bullies, ask the Scarlet Crusade, and there are a small group of people that you never, ever do bad things to if Kerrig is there. Janka and Z are on that list (bonus points for anyone that can name the other 4!). So it's no wonder those two never got along. (and there were things that Kerr did that annoyed poor Grokus as well. Kerr is not innocent by any means). He's not a villian, he's the foil in a comedy.

*curious about the bonus 4* Do you mean PCs or players? PCs I was thinking: Mel, Spanki, Shivers and Yags? Though Yagrek could always hold his own.
And yes, without Grokus around, we wouldn't be able to hone our skills in wit and sarcasm.

Heh, I was talking PCs. Mel is on that list. Shivers should have been, but then I remembered all the times she yelled "Go Yankees" in AV. ;D
The other three are Kerzi (Kerrig and Rozi's daughter), Rozi, and one from way in the past, Demejoria. All the problems started between Grokus and Kerrig when Grokus was his usual charming self to Deme.

So it wasn't Grokus that ran? Only a dimwitted alt (why can I picture that so well)? So I can say that Hammers don't run then? That's a huge relief.
Using Grokus to hone razor sharp wit on is like pummelling an Oreo with a sledge hammer isn't it? No challenge. Like running level vanilla raids with level 85 characters.

At that point, Nonemo was his main, not an alt. So unfortunately, nope, can't say that statement.

It wasn't Grokus though so Nonemo can be ridiculed instead. We'll just call him simple jack.

How long before a Game of Thrones MMO? How cool would it be to be killed by White Walkers? Zicha would have to become a lot more evil to play Cersei though I could see her methodically killing her enemies as Arya. Kerrig is Victarion Greyjoy. Poor Gal would be Benjen Stark, dead and/or missing before the beginning of episode one. Salty is Maester Luwin. Pras is Daenerys...

It's already in the works, I think it's in alpha stages.
