(This is just some RP Janka and I thought up as an intro to her joining the guild, so hopefully she will write the follow up)
He awakes still groggy, his mouth bitter from the short rest. Grokus sits up and looks thoughtfully at the fire that still licks at the logs and to the moon not quite high enough in the sky for him to have been asleep long.
A dream; always a dream recently, he doesn’t complain, only aches for a night that he can sleep through. The constant battles wear him down (even if he would never admit it), and sleep with dreams as vivid and confusing as this: never made him awake feeling the rest he intended to have.
The same dreams for 3 days now, fire, water, air, and earth all consumed in a shield, defending against a darkness he could feel, could taste, but couldn’t call by any one name. The darkness’s target was nothing more than a shadowed figure. When all of a sudden a cackling masked face stabs the darkness from behind and it falls.
That is where Grokus wakes up the last 3 nights, groggy with the bitter taste of sleep in his mouth.
